Light Sport Information

I finally got the date to pick up the Searey kit from the Progressive Aerodyne, Inc in Orlando Florida.  Since I live in Melbourne/Palm Bay area, it was only 1 1/2 hour drive to pick it up.   The date was Feb. 3, 2006.

The weather was rainy that day and my father decided to go with me to pick up the kit. We arrived at the factory at about 11am that morning, with drizzling rain.   The factory had all the boxes and parts in one place, ready for us to start loading. I had a large tarp which I placing on the trailer for the long fuselage and wings boxes, then I covered them up with the hull. The turtle deck and the long poles also needed to by strapped down to the trailer. The rest of the boxes, etc got loaded in the my truck.

It took about an hour for the two people (Wayne and Rana) and myself to load everything up.  Wayne also helped out a lot by providing extra blocks of wood and material to secure the turtle deck and the tarp.   I also had plenty of yellow straps for everything else.

The factory also provided me with foam blocks so that the metal straps would not damage any parts of the hulls or turtle deck.
